X-Lab alunches into Austrlalia

Australian office opens with strategic partner announcement with RCPAQAP and Sonic Pathology Australia.

X-Lab, the world’s leading lab interoperability provider, is delighted to announce the opening of our Australian operations led by Michelle Frazer as Business Development Director – Australasia. The move follows the extraordinary success of X-Lab’s solutions in helping the UK government manage the pandemic, and a desire to provide similar benefits to other countries.

Michelle will lead X-Lab’s in-country expansion out of Melbourne. She is responsible for developing the go-to market and sales strategies, creating new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The recent release of the National Interoperability Plan by the Australian Digital Health Agency (#ADHA) makes this a very opportune time for the X-Lab launch.

Intending to draw expertise from the UK’s digital health and interoperability success, the plan aims to progress Australia towards safe and seamless sharing of health data over the next five years. With over 15 year’s interoperability expertise and a 95% penetration in the UK labs market, X-Lab processed over 500m tests during Covid through its National Pathology Exchange (NPEx).

Mat Barrow, CEO of X-Lab says:

“Michelle has over twenty years’ experience in healthcare covering software, medical devices, SaaS solutions and managed services. She has worked with almost every hospital in Australia and driven the development of new software solutions and markets, including the expansion of the Magentus LIMS solution into the UK.”

Michelle Frazer adds:

“I’m delighted to be joining X-Lab at such a pivotal stage in the business’s development. I am confident that I can support its continued growth, in line with the expansion plans, to develop the business and its solutions that will benefit our customers as the demands on pathology continue to grow.”

NPEx, known worldwide as Labgnostic, is now available throughout Australasia and allows laboratories to connect through a single hub enabling tests to be sent digitally between labs in seconds – irrespective of the in-house LIMS. This proven solution is already garnering significant interest from both the RCPA Quality Assurance Programs and Sonic Healthcare.
